This guy's got pipes.
Andrew De Leon, a 19-year-old make-up artist, blew away judges and won over the crowd at the "America's Got Talent" auditions held Tuesday in Austin, Texas.
Leon, clad in all black garb and wearing dark eye makeup, said that he had never before sung in front of anyone -- including his parents -- prior to this performance. Nevertheless, he got on stage and moved the crowd to tears with his opera singing.
"You got up there and blew the roof of the joint," Howard Stern told De Leon.
"You've been hiding in your room all these years, but you've never let the world see who who you are or what you are," Howie Mandel, another judge, added. "And it's not that you're good at anything, you are great."
De Leon, who has never taken voice lessons, said felt like an outsider growing up.
"Singing was always an escape," he said. "It was always a comfort zone."
"I think my days of being shy and being an outcast have reached their end," he added. "And I'd like to be able to really show what I can do."
